The Prince gives his account of the disagreements between himself and Princess Caroline. He describes the impossibility of dismissing Lady Jersey immediately as doing so would confirm the slander against him, and that he has a right to invite anyone he wishes to his house and to expect them to be treated with 'common civility' by the Princess.
