TitleLists of Parliamentary representatives in the House of Commons
Date1780
DescriptionRecording the 'State' of the House of Commons, this volume lists Members of Parliament for each seat and assesses both the current allegiance and likely future outcome of the upcoming General Election - running totals give numbers for each category (pro, 'hopefull', [doubtful], contra). Notes next to the name of each candidate may record whether the MP is a 'Friend' to the Government and his voting history, whether a seat is likely to be contested, or the rationale for the assessment. For constituencies in England and Wales, see pages 1-41, constituencies in Scotland may be found on pages 48-49. With an abstract (at back) of constituencies and MPs. It is not clear when exactly this volume was compiled but the information is updated to 31 July 1780
