TitleLetter from Queen Charlotte to George, Prince of Wales
Date11 July 1784
WriterCharlotte, Queen Consort to George III
AddresseeGeorge, Prince of Wales (1762-1830)
Description'Having recovered my Senses a little after a long & painfull Operation of three full Hours performd upon one of my fore teeth by Monsieur Dumisque, I take up my Pen to thank You for Your pretty letter & Cadeau which malgré bon gré I must accept notwithstanding all my boasted Prudence. Alas! You know Pope says, Wee woman have no Character at all, to which I subscribe only so far as concerns the little Steeds, for my unsteadiness was only occasioned by delicacy not want of inclination: for You little know how much I feel any attention from You.'
