Description
William writes about the inability to execute plans at Minorca [Menorca]; General Hervey and [Thomas] Desaguliers returning to England; the possibility of General Mostyn losing his eyes; visiting [Ernest II] Prince of Gotha; staying in Genoa for the winter; and two encounter's with the Pretender [Charles Edward Stuart], who had landed in Gibraltar from Antibes. He also mentions that he has written to Sir Horace to discover the Grand Duke [?of Tuscany's] plans and if the Grand Duke does not go to Milan William will go to Florence via Leghorn.
