Collection | Correspondence of William IV |
Description | Referring to the concern expressed in a previous letter [GEO/MAIN/45045-45046] with regard to the kind of ship the Grand Duchess Catherine [Pavlovna of Russia] was offered by the Admiral to travel to England [she was, initially, to travel on board of a Cheerful Cutter, a small and unsuitable means of transport for the Grand Duchess, according to the Duke of Clarence]. The Duke has, however, managed to make arrangements for her to travel aboard the HMS Jason. They will leave for England the day after - and will try to land as close as possible to London, according to the Grand Duchess's desire. |
