In answer to a letter sent by Adolphus from Hanover in which he communicated the death of the Duke of York to whom Adolphus was very close. The Duke himself considers this an 'irreparable loss'.
The Duke updates his brother on the whereabouts and health of their siblings - Princess Sophia; Princess Augusta Sophia; Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh.
He sends good wishes to the Duchess [of Cambridge]
