Description
Sir Herbert explains to the Duke the issue of the Government's proposal concerning the Mutiny Act: the suggestion is to abolish the Power of Regimental Courts Martial to award Corporal Punishment in the United Kingdom, with the exception of the cases of Mutiny on Parade. The King is strongly against this proposal as he believes it would negatively affect the security of the Army.
Sir Herbert explains in detail the reasons for not supporting these changes.
