Daten.d [? 1811]
WriterFath 'Ali Shah, Shah of Iran
AddresseeGeorge, Prince Regent
DescriptionSending good wishes, praise and warm sentiments. The letter reports that Mirza Abu'l-Hasan Khan has described his cordial reception by the Prince Regent, and that Sir Gore Ouseley is proving an effective Ambassador to the Persian Court. Refers to the Prince Regent having been 'vested' with 'the weighty duties of the Government of Great Britain', and the hope that the existing alliance between their two contries will be of long duration.

[Undated: but Sir Gore Ouseley was appointed Ambassador to the Persian Court in 1810, and arrived in Tehran in November 1811. The Prince of Wales became Regent in February 1811. Translation by Henry Willock , 'Persian Translator'.]
