TitlePetition from Thomas Murray to Sir George Lee
Date24 June [1751]
WriterMurray, Thomas
AddresseeLee, George, Sir (c.1700-1758), Treasurer to Augusta, Princess of Wales
DescriptionMurray expresses his concerns about having offended the Princess with his application to the Duke of Newcastle [Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle upon Tyne and 1st Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyme]. If this is the case, he wishes to apologize and make sure to be forgiven before he dies - he is unwell and fears he might not have long to live. His wife has been a wet nurse to Prince Edward, Prince Henry and Prince Frederick, children of the Princess of Wales, so that he hopes his family will still be under the Princess' protection once he has gone.
