He reports that the Prince asked to him to write to William Fawcett to ask for his own regiment. Craufurd describes his life and in particular social life in Gibraltar. He also reports on the Prince's faults and weaknesses, including his passion for horses. Craufurd writes that while the Prince's conduct is good, his attitude to his finances are not yet. He mentions the Prince's intention to stay in Gibraltar for 2 years, and conveys the Prince's anxiety concerning his income
