Livingston discusses the political situation in several European countries, including the German Empire. He writes that the Prussian King continues to visit Prince Augustus. Livingston recounts the specifics of the Prince's finances, and his plans for economy. Livingston discusses his own poor health, and the effect that will have on his service, as well as his plans to hand over his duties to Captain Arbuthnot
