GEO/MAIN/15830-15831: Presentation of petition written following the death of John Carr, a collector of Loughrea. Carr had seen the 'abuses' and 'frauds' made by the collectors and wanted to examine the situation despite being met with threats; he discovered and noted an estimate of arrears due, 'short charged' acres, acres not charged in the Kings Rent Rolls, acres short charged with Quit Rent, acres 'not sett off'' and not used, total amount lost. Carr made applications to the Chief Commissioners and Governors of the Revenue in Ireland. Wainwright kept the letters and memorials, also recorded in this volume, he also supported Carr and ruined himself. Wainwright is requesting a quarter of the amount the examination will save the Crown, which he believes he deserves as its representative

This correspondence covers the appointment of John Carr as Collector of the Revenue and his work in Killebegge, Sraburne and Loughrea, the discovery that lands had not been charged and some forfeited,, and the forfeited interests of Lady Hurley. Marley attributes the increase in arrears to lands which are not to be found, and includes an estimate of arrears for quit rents and crown rents

GEO/MAIN/15835: Letter from Gorges Edmund Howard, Solicitor to the Chief Commissioners and Governors of His Majesty 's Revenue of Ireland to John Carr. Howard writes that he thinks the scheme is feasible, and has a "moral certainty of success". He cannot accept the offer of being a "third sharer", as it would ruin his report and not sit well with his office. He recommends an essay be written first

GEO/MAIN/15842: Letter to the Right Honourable and Honourable the Governors and Chief Commissioners of his Majesty's Revenue in Ireland-Wainwright, as Carr's memorialist, writes that Carr "became indebted to the Crown" in 1735. Wainwright discusses the taking of bonds from Robert Blahenny and Ros Mahon, Carr's plans to inform the board of commissioners of his discoveries and his subsequent presentation of findings on 10/05/1751. Includes references to an order for his discoveries to be referred to Howard, Carr's death before Howard could make a report and Wainwright's claim to money as Carr's representative
