Description25354-5: 25 August, Benois reports from Paris advising postponing the purchase of a statue of Louis XIV and a bureau for which there is no room at Carlton House, but recommending other items (not listed).
25355-6: 8 September, he reports that he has found the Malmaison table of Sèvres porcelain, which the present owner wishes to sell with two Sèvres pictures for mounting on small pieces of furniture, and other items; he has also found a superb Meissen service which would suit the Prince.
25357: 11 September, he sends the promised design for the piece of furniture to be mounted with gilt bronze and a Sèvres picture, together with a drawing of a fine piece of furniture mentioned previously; and reports that the Ter Borch painting of the Treaty of Munster from Talleyrand's collection is offered for sale by M. Bonnemaison for £1225.
25358-9: 22 September, he writes that he is glad that Mr Long is coming to look at the objects for possible purchase: the Malmaison table will cost £580, the equestrian statue of Louis XIV £360, the Meissen service £280.
