DescriptionMcMahon reassures the Prince that 'the idea of reconciliation is entirely Ministerial....Care shall be taken, Sir, to stop, or at least to counteract it'. He reports that the Opera was quiet on the previous evening; and that Pelham is dead [he was mistaken]. He states that Lord Cornwallis is considered for Ireland [for the post of Lord Lieutenant], and 'coercion the order of the day'.
