DescriptionPearce describes the good conduct of Colonel McMahon informing Miss [Margaret] Gainsborough on behalf of the Prince of his decision to keep one of the pictures 'to show his regard for the memory of honest Gainsborough'. He describes Miss Gainsborough's 'pride in accordance to her father's wishes that the Prince should have one of his best landscapes in his possession'.
He informs the addressee of the death of Miss Wood.
