DescriptionThis account book records the amount paid and payee, 1812-1831. More specific indication of the nature of the purchase or debt is rarely given. From 1820, these payments appear to be primarily for 'Dutch Loan Obligations' purchased of Messrs Mevil and Co of Amsterdam. With list of obligations recording from whom and when purchased, and to whom paid; and memorandum (GEO/MAIN/43188) as to outstanding obligations, 1834. Including a signed abstract of accounts dated 19 October 1826 (GEO/MAIN/43189-43190), and miscellaneous calculations (GEO/MAIN/43191)

Admin HistoryDutch loan negotiated on behalf of the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York, and the Duke of Clarence in 1789 by Messrs Boas at the Hague. 350 000 guilders were raised from 350 bonds of 1000 guilders each at 5% interest from 1790. These bonds were later bought up by the Commissioners
