| Description | Nathan is sending a book which will be published soon and, he believes, has the intent of extorting money from the royal family and exciting the public hatred against them; this seems to be part of a plan plotted by the friends of Lady Edwardina Flinn.
Nathan has done all what is in his power, and at his expense, to get hold of the original documents of the "secret history" [a draft of the book?]; to that aim he met with the publisher of the book, Susan Woodward, who agreed to carry out Nathan's plan: to be provided with sufficient means to publish a prefatory volume to the book and to hand to Nathan the original documents and the 500 copies printed of the book. When in the meeting with Susan Woodward, Sir John Flinn came in claiming that he was just back from Windsor Castle where he went to present a petition to the King. Nathan gives details of that petition and its connection with the publication of the book. |
